Malaria is an infectious and dangerous disease, killing around three million people across the globe every year. The life taking disease is caused by a parasite, Plasmodium that infects the red blood cells. Malaria infection is recognized by cycles of chills, fever, pain and sweating. Malaria is primarily caused by four protozoan species of Plasmodium, namely-
• Plasmodium falciparum.
